Cork

In our homes, cork floors create a warm, comfortable, resilient surface that is gentle underfoot, is anti-microbial, will not spread flame, and is inherently resistant to molds, mildews, and common pests. From harvest to production to installation, cork is environmentally sustainable, non-toxic, and healthy.

Green Is In

Cork is a truly sustainable "green-building" material. Trees are grown and the bark is harvested in the centuries old tradition without harming either the trees or their habitat. Bark is initially sent to a factory to create stoppers for wine bottles. Cork flooring is then created from post-industrial by-product of the bottle-stopper industry. This 'waste' material is ground up and then formed into sheets using minimal amounts of adhesive to bind the particles together under high pressure.

Insulation

With energy bills continuing to climb; cork flooring is one way that you can help in this department. Cork's insulation properties mean that your home will be kept warm in winter and cool in the summer.

Noise Reduction

Not only does it help with heat insulation but it's great for noise insulation too. Natural cork is a soft material and can help prevent noises being carried around the property. This is especially useful if you live in an apartment and don't want your neighbors to hear you walking about at 3am!

Design

Cork flooring offers an intriguing design and a durable surface. There are a number of different colors to choose from you'll have a hard time deciding your favorite. The patterns are also amazing looking; it's almost like looking at marble. Cork has a natural bounce, which makes walking or standing on it very comfortable.
